This thing is great!
When I originally began P90X the pull-up bar that Beachbody sells worked GREAT! Unfortunately, we bought a new house and the area where I want to workout does not have a door jam that I can use. That's when I decided to pick up the All-In-One Stand-Alone Pull-Up Bar from Trapeze Rigging. As a replacement to the P90X pull up bar this thing is perfect.
Some of the cool features of the product...
Completely Portable / Collapsable
The pull-up bar comes packed as seven individual solid aluminum pieces that slip together. This includes two T-bar feet, four adjustable side poles, and a crossbar with 90 degree hand positions. It took my 11 year old daughter about three minutes to set it up and can be quickly disassembled if you need to tuck it away.
Solid Construction
I was surprised of the heavy gauge tubing that was used during the manufacturing process. The welds are also seriously strong. Both my daughter and I used it simultaneously and it had no problem supporting 307 lb. mass.
Perfect Diameter for Gripping
Over the years I've used countless pull-up / chin-up bars... "power towers", the pull-up bars in the Marines, the P90X pull-up bar. For me, the best bars were the bars in good 'ole Parris Island. They had this certain diameter that made gripping the bar super comfortable. This bar feels quite similar.
Adjustable Height
At 5'6" I had to slightly hop to get on the second-highest position. However, there are six more settings (three holes and two heights for the crossbar) for shorter people. This means that it should comfortably work for anyone 6' to probably 4'6".
Here are some photos for a closer look. Click on any of them to be taken to the page at Amazon.Com where I purchased it from...
